Mastercard empowers the small businesses that help fans celebrate their home team.
We cast real small business owners to represent the New York Yankees, Boston Red Sox, Los Angeles Dodgers and Atlanta Braves for this 2023 Mastercard & MLB commercial. Shoutout to Denny Moe's Superstar Barber Shop, Artistry ATL, and The Whoopie Wagon for reminding us of the artisans that root each baseball season so special.
We collaborated with the Los Angeles Dodgers legendary manager, Dave Roberts for this social video celebrating hometown heroes that give Dodgers fans the taste of home. As stated by James Beard Award winning Chef Wes Avila himself, "if you're from LA you gotta bring it."
And bring it he did.
For the 2023 MLB Seattle All Star Game, Mastercard wanted to showcase the culinary geniuses behind Seattle's best food trucks that circle the stadium.
I was invited to shoot and edit this video featuring Yankees legend CC Sabathia as he discovered how each chef's hometown inspired their cooking.
THE WORK THAT ALMOST MADE IT TO HOME PLATE
WE WERE SO INSPIRED BY ROOTING FOR THE HOMETOWN MVPS THAT MAKE GAMEDAY SO SPECIAL, THAT WE PITCHED A BASEBALL CARD THEMED ACTIVATION, WHERE WE HIGHLIGHTED DIFFERENT LOCAL SMALL BUSINESS OWNERS AND HANDED THEM OUT TO FANS IN THE STADIUM. EACH CARD WOULD GIVE A BACKGROUND, STATS, AND INCENTIVIZE PEOPLE TO CHECK OUT THE STORES WITH QR COUPONS.
